I do agree that the Government plays a role in protecting the health of the citizens. However I think this is an example of a situation where the Government may be overstepping. It appears a company has created a powder form of no-doz that gets absorbed in the mouth and sinus. Yeah, it might not be all that healthy! But neither is multiple cups of coffee! As soon as someone comes up with something new, it appears that the anti-recreational drug groups start to fight it.

Scientist Examines Possible Link Between Antibiotics and Obesity - NYTimes.com
Here is another study, (article found by our son, Sean) that points toward the bacteria in our gut could be contributing to our obesity epidemic.
I'm glad we are continuing studies of this. I suspect we may make a lot more interesting medical discoveries during the studies.

Marge Mellentine pointed out this article to us. It shows that there is a complex interaction between our mind and our gut -- and the bacteria and organisms living in our gut.
Given that we've also discovered a relationship between MS and the bacteria in our gut, I think we're going to find out a lot more about how we interact with our digestive environment
